Gulfstream Park has a 9-race card planned for Sunday's race day.
The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:37 PM. The carryover there is $155,585 after that wager paid out a smallish $203.18 Saturday to approximately 1,000 bettors.
On Saturday, the Holy Bull Stakes was won by Rocket Can (2.6:1) in race 12 by 3/4 lengths. The $250,000 purse race favorite was Cyclone Mischief
(1.2:1) who finished 6th in the 7 horse field. Besides that race, six
favorites won on the day, including 4 favs in the last 6 races. That led
to meager payouts on the exotic bets.
The late Pick 4 and Pick 5
paid just $51.60 and $97.50 respectively. The best win we saw on the
card Saturday was the Super High 5 in the Holy Bull Stakes; that $1 bet
paid $22,376.80 to 2 winners.
Total all-sources track handle was a whopping $19.84 million Saturday. That compares to the handle of $24.6
million last year. Last year's race day also ran 12 races, but this
year's purses were 30% higher; ($1.23 million vs. $946,000).
