Gulfstream Park West enters the ‘stretch run’ this Thursday – Thanksgiving Day – as it plans an 8-race card with first post time of 12:05 PM.
This Fall meet will end on
Sunday, Nov. 25th.
Races 1,3,5,8 will be on the turf, with all races
listed as either claiming, allowance optional claiming, or maiden
Race 8 is the sole 2 year-old jaunt,
with a $60,000 purse on the turf.
This is no doubt the toughest handicap
of the day, with 12 entries.
The Rainbow 6 wager starts in race 3 at about 1:05 PM, and the Pick 4 at 1:35 PM.
In Sunday’s action, the last live racing
day, 101 starters ran 11 races. A big upset in the last race threw most
multi race wagers away when Early Deligh won at 25:1 odds.
That resulted in nice payouts for the Late Pick 4, $625, and the Late Pick 5, $2,762.
The five Rainbow 6 winners each banked $6,463.
The other horses in the Rainbow 6 winners mix were between 1.6 and 3.7
to 1 odds.
You never know where the odd-ball win will occur.
Thursday’s carryovers include the Super Hi-5 in race 1 at $1,768, and the Rainbow 6 at $80,888.
Live racing plans to return to Gulfstream Park across the county in Hallandale December 1st.
