Gulfstream's Thursday Racing; 1:05 PM Post

Gulfstream Park will host eight races on Thursday, with first post at 1:05 p.m, and continue the race week through Sunday.

There are no stakes races slated for Thursday.

Two carryovers will be on the card however. The Rainbow 6, at $334,981, and the Super Hi-5 at $19,810. The Rainbow 6 will start in race 3 at bout 2:14 PM, while the Super Hi-5 runs in race 1 at 1:05 PM if 7 or more starters enter the gate.

Gulfstream is guaranteeing that Thursday's Rainbow 6 will have a $450,000 gross pool of the entire coming in carryover plus all of the days Rainbow 6 bets - to be paid if there is just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.

The Super Hi-5 wager looks interesting today. That's a nice carryover and a bet using the loser's money from last Sunday's wagering. The last 3 eligible races Sunday showed carryovers (6,7,9th). Today's first two races show 7 starters this morning. The Super Hi-5 wager is the first 5 finishers in order; not an easy task. The track 'takout' is 18%. Look for large wagers on this.

On the last race day, Sunday, there were 47 Rainbow 6 winners, each paid $1,509.14 on the 20-cent bet. Forty-eight starters entered the gates for that wager, while the high-odds winner was 17:1 in the 7th race.

Betting on the Rainbow 6 Sunday was $128,784, while total all-sources track handle was $4.87 million.
