BAUER'S BETS: Live Racing Returns to Tampa

Today kicks off Tampa Bay Downs fall/winter season. The first post time for the ten race program is 12:25 PM.

It promises to be a good racing day, in the 70's and partly cloudy. Both tracks should be in top condition.

The bet of the day comes in Race 9, a $22,500 NW1X Allowance for fillies and mares. A contentious field of ten provides many possibilities.

There is alot to like in (5) ROSEBUDS HOPE from the Michael Stidham outfit. She is 2 for 2 at today's conditions, a mile on the lawn and turned in a bullet work on Nov. 10 of 48.1 breezing 4 furlongs. This sophomore filly boasts a trio of wins over the sod, while most of the rest have but one. She is a square price at 5-1 on the morning line.

THE BET- Will play (5) ROSEBUDS HOPE to win. Also, an exacta box with (1) STAY ANCHORED and (10) SCANDALEUX. 1,5,10.

GOOD LUCK!!

GP West Has Eight Race Thanksgiving Day Card

Gulfstream Park West enters the ‘stretch run’ this Thursday – Thanksgiving Day – as it plans an 8-race card with first post time of 12:05 PM. This Fall meet will end on Sunday, Nov. 25th. Races 1,3,5,8 will be on the turf, with all races listed as either claiming, allowance optional claiming, or maiden special weight.
Race 8 is the sole 2 year-old jaunt, with a $60,000 purse on the turf. This is no doubt the toughest handicap of theday, with 12 entries.
The Rainbow 6 wager starts in race 3 at about 1:05 PM, and the Pick 4 at 1:35 PM.
In Sunday’s action, the last racing day, 101 starters ran 11 races. A big upset in the last race threw most multi race wagers away when Early Deligh won at 25:1 odds. That resulted in nice payouts for the Late Pick 4, $625, and the Late Pick 5, $2,762.
The five Rainbow 6 winners each banked $6,463. The other horses in the Rainbow 6 winners mix were between 1.6 and 3.7 to 1 odds. You never know where the odd-ball win will occur.
Thursday’s carryovers include the Super Hi-5 in race 1 at$1,768, and the Rainbow 6 at $80,888.
Live racing plans to return to Gulfstream Park in Hallandale December 1st.
