Gulfstream Thursday Racing; 12:30 PM Post Time

by Horse Racing FLA Staff
Gulfstream Park plans a 9-race Thursday.

First post time is 12:30 PM.
No stakes races are planned on the Thursday card.

The sole carryover today is $28,371 on the Rainbow 6 wager.

That wager starts in race 4 at approximately 2:02 PM.

On Wednesday, there were 85 tickets winning the Rainbow-6, each collecting $779.70. No bettor had all 6 horses, so the payout was for 5 of 6. Forty-five runners participated in the races, and the highest odds winner was the 46:1 horse, Natural Power, who edged out HarrysOnTheLoose at the wire in race 7.
Extravagant Kid, the 6/5 favorite finished 6th in the eight horse field.

Just one favorite won in the last 6 races. That was enough of a hurdle to frustrate
the bettors.

Wagering on the Rainbow 6 was $118,220.
All sources track handle was $5.92 million Wednesday.

BAUER'S WEDNESDAY BETS: FAST & FIRM at TAMPA

 By Bob Bauer

Today's nine race program kicks off February's racing action. The first Post time is scheduled for 12:15 PM.

Tampa Bay Downs has live racing every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (except Easter), until closing day May 7.

The feature is RACE 9, Post time is 4:18 PM. Live coverage on RadioStPete.com, including the call from announcer Jason Beam starts at 4:15.

The nightcap brings together a wide open field of older Fillies and Mares sprinting five furlongs on the turf. The conditions are $16,000 NW1X Optional Claiming.

KONA KAI (1) at 8/1 on the Morning Line is a good bet at half that price. This five-year old Mare, a daughter of PALICE MALICE, might have a major form reversal today. Players should ignore her last pair of dull races after a fourteen month-layoff. The first on November 21 was in the slop at Churchill, the second was under today's conditions vs. a field of colts. She's back with the girls today, gets blinkers and top jock Samy Camacho on the mount. Has a pair of local works on January 12 and 27. The last one a "bullet" 36.3 breezing.

THE BET:  $20 win and place on KONA KAI (1) ($40) and a $2 three-horse exacta box ($12) with that one and FORT DRUM (3) and LADY JEAN (6)  1,3,6.   Total Bet $52     GOOD LUCK!

PREVIOUS RESULTS  1/30/22:  Lost $32, the win bet was third, had first and third in the exacta. The bankroll is now $992.
