Gulfstream's Friday Racing - $1 Million Rainbow 6 Carryover

HorseRacingFLA Staff Report

Gulfstream Park will host an 11 race card Friday, with a first post time of 12:35 PM.

No stakes races are planned, and the entries show 86 horses listed to run, with 6 turf races on the card.
Thursday's racing included 11 races, 5 favorites winning, and a growing Rainbow 6 carryover of $1,010,689.

Thirty-five bettors collected $6,135 each on the winning Rainbow wager, as 56 starters competed. While 4 of the legs were favorite-wins, an 8:1 and 10:1 win in the 8th and 10th race whittled the live tickets down a bit.

The Rainbow 6 will run on races 6-11, with the sequence scheduled to start at 3:08 p.m.

The  carryover has grown because Thursday was  the 15th  straight race day without the jackpot/carryover payout  requirement of just one ticket with the winners of all six races.

Bettors added $382,978 to the Rainbow 6 pool Thursday.

The late Pick 4 paid $697 on the minimum 50 cent bet.
The late Pick 5 paid $1,654.

The Super Hi-5 was hit for $10,078 in the last race, so there is no carryover Friday.

Gulfstream Rainbow 6 Carryover Reaches $845,000

Gulfstream Rainbow 6  Carryover  Reaches  $845,000

HorseRacingFLA Staff Report

Gulfstream Park will  have a Rainbow  6  carryover of $845,641  when it resumes  racing on Wednesday.

First post will be 12:35 p.m. for the ten-race card.

The Rainbow  6  will  be  on races  five  to ten, with the sequence  scheduled to start at 2:37 p.m.

The  carryover  has  grown because Sunday, the most  recent race day, was  the 13th  straight race day without the jackpot/carryover  payout  requirement of just one ticket with  the winners  of all  six  Rainbow  6 races.

HorseRacingFLA has been using Equibase charts  to track Gulfstream handle since August  2015.   Our research shows that the current carryover is the fastest in the Rainbow 6 since then.

On Sunday there were seven tickets with all six  winners.  Each received $35,128.54 on the 20 cent  per combination only bet.

Program numbers of the winning horses were 1-5-5-4-6-1.

Bettors  added $439,160 to the Rainbow  6 pool.  Per its rules on days with multiple winning tickets, Gulfstream took  out  20 percent of  the day’s  bet. It  divided  56  percent among tickets  with six  winners and  added 24 percent to the carryover.

The relatively low  number of winning tickets and relatively high payout was largely due to  Majestic Luna, at 19

-1, wining the  eighth race/first leg.

The late Pick 5, starting with the ninth race,  paid $2,875  on the minimum 50  cent bet. Wagering on the Late  Pick  5 was $576,589.
