Lira Wins Ginger Brew, Stays Unbeaten n

The favorite Lira found her way  through traffic and won in a close finish over late-running Pricedtoperfection in the $100,000 Ginger Brew for 3-year-old fillies at Gulfstream Park.

Lira won the 7 1/2 furlong turf stakes in 1[30.38. Lira is now unbeaten in three starts. Javier Castellano rode her for trainer Todd Pletcher,

The next stakes is the Dania Beach (Grade 3) at 7 1/2 for 3-year-old males.  It is the seventh race with scheduled post of 3:05 p.m.

Tampa Bay Race 2 Won by Gonna Be Alright

Gonna Be Alright, at 16:1 won by a half-length in the second race at Tampa Bay Downs.

Hugo Sanchez had the winning mount in the nine horse field. Bluegrass Demon and Royal Fighter followed about 2 lengths back at the finish line.

Awesome Banner, Lucy N Ethel Win Grade 3s at GP

The colt Awesome Banner and the filly Lucy N Ethel won Saturday's Grade 3 stakes races at Gulfstream Park.

Awesome Banner took the six-furlong Hutcheson in 1:09.57.  Lucy N Ethel won the six-furlong Old Hat in 1:10.03.

We will have more on the two races later this afternoon.

The races were the first two of five stakes for-year-olds at Gulfstream today.
