Rainbow 6 Opener Won by 3-1 Shot

Shyza (9). at  3-1, won Sunday's  third race at the Gulfstream Park  West  meet to start the Rainbow 6.

The race was scheduled for 7  1/2 furlongs on turf, but was moved to the dirt and run at  seven furlongs on that surface that is listed as Fast.

The fifth and seventh races remain scheduled for the turf, which is listed as Good.

The Rainbow  6 carryover coming into today was $861,912,  Bettors  added $196,968  to the pool. That is the highest of any day during the current 34-day cycle in which there has not been a single ticket winner in the Rainbow 6.

The fourth race is coming up with scheduled post at 2:54 p.m., to start the Late Pick 5.

There are only three scratches in the sequence, leaving 43 starters. That could lead to a good payoff.

The  fourth race is a $10,000 claimer at one mile on dirt for 3-year-olds and up.

There will be a field of eight following the scratch of Eights and Aces (2).  Here's hoping that you can avoid having the multi-race  bets become a Deadman's Hand.
