GP West Sunday: Eight Races, 1:00 p.m Post; Rainbow 6 Carryover Passes $200,000

The Gulfstream Park West meet has an eight-race card on Sunday, with first post at 1:00 p.m. at race site Calder  in Miami Gardens.

The only carryover is on the Rainbow 6--at $201,942.

That 20 cent-per combination only bet is on races three to eight, with the sequence scheduled to  start at  2:00 p.m.

On Saturday, when winners in the sequence included two longshots. there were no tickets with all six  winners in the Rainbow 6.

There were 23 tickets with five winners, and each  received $2,676.50 on the 20-cent bet.

Program numbers of the six wining horses were  8-12-7-1-11-6.

Saturday was the 14th day of the GP West meet, and the 14th day without the jackpot/carryover payout requirement of just one ticket with all six winners.  Thus, the carryyover keeps growing.

Bettors added $110,500 to the Rainbow 6  pool on Saturday.

Of that, meet sponsor Gulfstream Park took out 20 percent. It then divided 56 percent among yhe tickets with five winners and added 24 percent to the carryover.

*Sunday's first five races are claiming or maiden claiming.

The sixth and seventh are allowance/optional  claiming races at 6 1/2 furlongs on dirt.  Both have $45,000 purses and optional claiming prices of $75,000.

Race six.is  for  2-YO filies and race seven is for 2-YO  maes.

The eighth race is a $48,000 maiden special weight  at  five  furlongs  on turf for  2-YO males.
