Gulfstream's Sunday; Carryovers with 1:15 PM Post

Gulfstream Park plans an 11-race card Sunday, with first post of 1:15 PM and expected sunny and fast/firm track conditions. 92 entries listed to run, with 58 of those in the last 6 races.

There are no stakes or 2 year-old races
on the card. This is day 16 of the Spring-Summer meet that began April 4th.

In Saturday’s action, 101 starters ran 12 races, with four favorites in the winners circle. Up until race 11, all the favorites were at least “in the money” before placing 9th and 8th respectively in races 11 and 12.

Quebec, at 4:1, won the sole stakes race – Powder Break Stakes – in race 11 by 1-1/4 lengths.

The long-odds winner on the day was in race 2 when Our Closure pulled the upset at 9:1 over the favorite Cocktail Skirt.
Here are the late race payouts for Saturday.

The Late Pick 4 paid: $446.35
Late Pick 5 paid: $1,767.95
Rainbow 6 paid: $3,278 to 58 winners.

Carryovers:

The Rainbow 6 carryover is still growing, at $605,886.
The Super Hi-5 wager was not cashed in the last race Saturday, so that carryover will be $6,912 in race 1 today with 7 runners listed.

The Rainbow 6 will kicks off in race #6 at about a 3:55 PM Post Time.

Total track handle from all sources was $10.65 million Saturday.

Enjoy your race day!

Friday's Gulfstream Racing; 1:15 PM Post

Gulfstream Park plans an 10-race card Friday, with first post of 1:15 PM, and 91 entries listed. There are no stakes or 2 year-old races on the card.

The sole 2 year-old race Thursday was won by Marching In, at 5.5:1 in the 4-1/2 furlong run on the dirt. Let's Be Honest, the ML favorite, was bid down to 4.7:1 at the gate, and finished 4th.

In Thursday's action, 85 starters ran 10 races, with just three favorites in the winners circle. Two long(er) odds wins in the 8th and 10th races, 8.6 and 15.4 to 1, led to decent returns in the late races.

The Late Pick 4 paid: $1,024.10
Late Pick 5 paid: $4,412.95
Rainbow 6 paid: $6,241 to 16 winners.

The Rainbow 6 will kicks off in race #5 at about a 3:45 PM Post Time. Fifty Nine entries are listed on the Friday card for races 5-10.

Total track handle from all sources was $5.36 million.

Gulfstream's Thursday Racing, Carryovers

Gulfstream Park plans an 10-race card Thursday, with first post of 1:15 PM, with 100 entries listed to run.

A sole 2 year-old race will be #3; a 4-1/2 furlong run on the dirt – maiden special weight with a $65,000 purse. Post time: 2:15 PM. Let’s Be Honest is the favorite at 5:2.

In Sunday’s action, the last racing day, 95 starters ran 11 races, with just two favorites in the winners circle. The wagering and odds data was very peculiar, in that the long-odds horse was 13:1 on the day in race 6, which led to a huge payout of the Rainbow 6 to 3 winners. The Pick 4 and Pick 5 paid handsomely also. Fifty-Five starters ran the last 6 races. The other odds on races 6-11 were: 3-1, 3-1, 5-1, 6-1, 6-1.

Late Pick 4 paid: $963.25
Late Pick 5 paid: $7,057.85
Rainbow 6 paid: $50,036 to 3 winners.
The Rainbow 6 carryover is now $442,121, as there have been no single winning wager thus far in this meet that began April 4th.

The Super Hi-5 will have a carryover also of $2,709, slated for race 1 with 10 entries listed.

The Rainbow will kick off in race #5 at about a 3:15 PM Post Time. Fifty One entries are listed on the Thursday card for races 5-10. Sixty-Six entries are listed on the Rainbow 6 scheduled races.

Total track handle from all sources was $7.32 million Sunday, a decline from the $8.57 million wagered Easter Sunday, 2018.

Friday's Gulfstream Racing; Carryovers

Gulfstream Park plans an 10-race card Friday, with first post of 1:15 PM. There are 82 entries listed on the card. No stakes races are included on the day.

The Rainbow 6 and Super Hi-5 wagers have carryovers, covered in more detail below. Gulfstream will race Easter Sunday with an 11 race card, and post time of 1:15 PM.

In Thursday’s racing action, 10 races were run, with 6 winners as favorites. The high-odds winner on the days was in race 7 at 5.3:1 (Vino), 1 mile on turf, a $26,000 claimer. Despite the low odds on the day, the late wagers paid quite nice, showing the lack of interest perhaps before this Easter weekend. Look for increased handle this weekend perhaps?

Late Pick 4 paid: $446.70

Late Pick 5 paid: $2,706.90
Rainbow 6 paid: $8,091 to 9 winners.

The Rainbow 6 carryover is now $295,699, as there have been no single winning wagers thus far in this meet that began April 4th.

Gulfstream Park plans a 12-race card Saturday, with first post of 12:45 PM.
Conditions are  listed  as Fast  and Firm. No stakes races are planned. 135 entries are listed on the card, including also-eligibles.
The Friday's racing action included 10 races, with 7 favorites in the winners circle, including all first 5 races!
The high-odds winner was Chief Exchanger in race 7. That led to some okay but lower multiple race payoffs.
Late Pick 4 paid: $508.95
Late Pick 5 paid: $1,457.00
Rainbow 6 paid: $1,953.20  to 34 winners.

The Rainbow will kick off in race #7 at about a 3:45 PM Post Time.
Also, Singandcryindubai had a bad day on the turf, jumping the rail after the start, further described by the track writer: "SINGANDCRYINDUBAI went over the rail shortly after start and lost rider, ran loose during race then caught by outriders and walked off". He was 10:1 odds in a $48,000 Maiden claimer.

Gulfstream Friday Preview

Gulfstream Park plans a 10-race card Friday, with first post of 1: 15 PM.
No stakes races are planned.
The Thursday racing action included 9 races, with just two favorites in the winners circle. The last 5 races were a bit interesting, in that two 12:1 odds and a 8:1 shot won, leading to a big Pick-5 and large Pick-6 payouts.
Late Pick 4 paid: $705.80
Late Pick 5 paid: $14,274.80
Rainbow 6 paid: $11,818 to 5 winners.
The carrovers Friday will be the Rainbow 6 at $132,996, and the Super Hi-5 at $1,486.
The Rainbow jackpot is high enough now for groups to go deep on the card we think.
Thursday's pool was $100,261 on the Rainbow, where 50 starters left the gates.
The first two-year old raced Thursday, resulting in a dead heat for the win between Reiterate and Marva in the fourth race. It was a $65,000 4-1/2 furlong run on the dirt. Also, Gran Bonita Chica, the 4:5 odds favorite in race 2 did not finish her race.
That's what keeps horse racing interesting - not knowing what's around the next turn.

Total track handle was $3.92 million, the first sub $4 million this meet thus far.
Thanks, and good luck !

Gulfstream's Sunday Racing, 1:15 Post

Gulfstream Park will enter day 4 of its Spring-Summer meet Sunday, with a 1:15 PM first post at its South Florida racecourse in Hallandale Beach.

There is no forecast of rain today during racing hours, and no stakes races are planned. Eighty-Nine entries are listed, including Also-Eligibles.

In Saturday’s 111 starters ran 12 races under clear, firm conditions. Five favorites won on the day, four of them in the last 6 races, which decreased the late mutiple race payoffs. Race 4’s win by Dancing Noelle, at 25:1 was the highlight win in a $19-k claimer. That made for an early Pick 5 (races 2-6) payout of $9,717.

The 5:1 high-odds in the last 6 races resulted in smallish pays: late pick-5 $428.70, late pick-4 $63.75.

The Rainbow 6 paid $992.94 out to 69 bettors; the second day with a sub $1,000 payoff here. With the carryover now $83,483,  it will have to get over $100,000 before more serious players enter the fray. The risk/reward is just not there yet.

Track handle was $10.47 million Saturday.

The Rainbow 6 carryover commences in race 5 with an approx. post time of 3:21 PM.

Saturday's Gulfstream Racing; 12:45 Post Time

Gulfstream Park will enter day 3 of its Spring-Summer meet Satuday, with a 12:45 PM first post and 118 entries listed on the card in 12 races. Six dirt and 6 turf. No stakes races are planned.

The meet will run from April 4th until September 29th, approximately 56 race days with a 4-day Thursday thru Sunday race schedule. We'll alert you to the post time changes when they are announced.

In Friday's action, 67 starters ran 9 races under cloudy, firm conditions. Just three favorites won on the day. A 15:1 and 11:1 win by two horses led to a BIG late pick-5 payout of $13,459

Surprisingly, the Rainbow 6 paid $998.14 out to 34 bettors, even though that was a tougher wager with race 4 (15:1 win) in that bet, and not in the Pick 5 bet. Three favorites were not 'in the money' the last 6 races, making the wager harder. The late Pick 4 paid $916.00.

Gulfstream will have a carryover of $53,907 in the Rainbow 6 Saturday, the sole carryover. Sixty-Five runners are listed in those races. Track handle was a subdued $4.55 million Friday.

The Rainbow 6 carryover commences in race 7 with an approx. post time of 3:45 PM.
Good Luck, and don't forget to subscribe - see top menu on this site.

BAUER'S BETS: Dirt Fast, NO TURF RACING TODAY

Today's play is in Race 4, Post time 2:05 PM. A $30,000 Starter Allowance for older fillies and mares, was originally carded for the lawn but has been moved to the main track at the same mile and one-sixteenth distance.

Picked (5) MALIKA to continue her four race win streak,(on the turf) but if she is going to get beat, today may be the day and (2) ROSEBUD'S HOPE could be that filly. Trainer Mike Stidham has freshened her since December 30 with a series of works over the Tampa dirt track. The final one a bullet move going five panels in sixty and three-fifths. She has good natural turn of foot and should come back running and has won twice before after a layoff.

THE BET $10 to win on (2) ROSEBUDS HOPE and a $5 exacta box with (5) MALIKA. 2,5,. Also a $2 exacta box with (3) BALADA. 2,3,5.
Total Bet $32.   GOOD LUCK!!

PREVIOUS RESULTS Lost $22 on Wednesday. The bankroll is now minus $1.40.

Gulfstream Opens Spring-Summer Meet Thursday

Gulfstream Park will open its Spring-Summer meet April 4th at 1:15 PM, with 8 races on the card. Sixty Eight entries are listed: 4 dirt, 4 turf. No stakes races are planned.

The meet will run from April 4th until September 29th, approximately 56 race days with a 4-day Thursday thru Sunday race schedule. We'll alert you to the post time changes when they are announced.

On the last day of the Champions Meet, which ended Sunday, three favorites won on the day, with a 30:1 win by Farley in the 7th race the only surprise. As Saturday was the Florida Derby Day, with a $47.5 million handle, Sunday was surprisingly strong at $8.3 million.

Seventy-eight starters ran with just 3 turf races. We suspect Gulfstream wanted to allow the turf to 'heal' after the 80 starters galloped on the grass Saturday. The change from a 5 day to 4 day schedule now will also help the turf courserecover over this Spring and Summer.

Gulfstream ended the Champions Meet with a $910.23 million total handle vs. $929.01 for the prior year.

Rainbow 6 Carryover
: Forty-Seven starters ran Sunday in the Rainbow 6, with $5,102 paid out to 18 winners. The Late pick 4 and 5 paid $117.90 and $2994 respectively as the high odds winner Farley was in both race sequences. Gulfstream will have a carryover of $39,363 in the Rainbow Thursday. That's the sole carryover.

The Rainbow 6 carryover commences in race 3 with an approx. post time of 2:15 PM.

Good Luck, and don't forget to subscribe - see top menu on our website. (https://horseracingFLA.com)
