GP Rainbow 6 Carryover Nears $3.9 Million

The Gulfstream Park Rainbow 6 carryover has extended to 37 days and will be $3,894,408 on Thursday.

First post is 12:35 p.m. for a 10-race card.  The Rainbow 6 will be on races five to ten, with the sequence scheduled to start at 2:35 p.m.

That will follow a Wednesday when there were 55 tickets with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races. Each of those tickets received $4,291.62 on the 20-cent only bet

The carryover keeps growing because Wednesday was the 37th straight race day without the jackpot payoff requirement of just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6  races.

The jackpot consists of 80 of the day’s Rainbow 6 bet (20 percent takeout) and the entire built-up carryover.

Gulfstream has not announced a date for when it will have a mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 carryover—when all tickets with six winners  will divide  the payout.

However, there are reports that Gulfstream will have the mandatory payout on Saturday March 31, which is Florida Derby Day.

The jackpot consists of 80 of the day’s Rainbow 6 bet (20 percent takeout) and the entire built-up carryover.

On Wednesday, the carryover coming in was $3,792,365.  Bettors added $425,375 to the pool.

Per its rules on days with multiple  winning tickets, Gulfstream took out 20 percent of the day's new bets.  It then divided 56 percent among the tickets with six winners and added 24 percent to the carryover.

The program numbers of the six winning horses were 3-4-5-7-1-9.  All of the winners were at 7-1 or lower.

TheRainbow 6 is a 20-cent per combination-only bet.  A ticket can have multiple horses in each race. For example, a ticket with two horses in each race has 64 combinations and costs $12.80.
