GP West: Rainbow Hit for $177,521

There was just  one winning  ticket in the Gulfstream Park West Rainbow 6 on Saturday, and it paid $177,521 on a 20  cent  bet.

Saturday's winning ticket  was placed on the XPressbet advance deposit wagering site and cost $972.  Thus, the ticket had 4,860 different 20 cent combinations.

Meanwhile, on Sunday there will be  a  carryover of $19,901 on the  Late Pick 5.

The winning Rainbow 6 ticket was the only  one with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races--including Geh Schnell in the tenth and final. It was one of three live tickets going into  that  race, and the only one of those three  with Geh Schnell.

The winning numbers in the Rainbow 6 sequence were 7-9-4-9-11-1.  Those results came on a day when there was no turf racing, due  to rain, with all  ten races on the dirt track  that  was listed as Sloppy.

Saturday was the 20th day of  the GP West  meet, held at  Calder, and the first day with the Rainbow 6 jackpot payoff requirement  of just  one  ticket  with all six winners.

The  Saturday jackpot payoff consisted of the entire  built-up  carryover of $137,876 plus 80 percent of  Saturday's Rainbow 6  bets of $49,503.

The Rainbow 6 and Late Pick 5 winners included Cheech Thunder at 16-1 in the sixth race and Wild Winter at 22-1 in the ninth race.

That was the main reason there were no tickets with all five winners in the Late  Pick 5.  Tickets with four of five winners paid $276.40 on a minimum 50 cent bet.

On Sunday, GP West will have a ten-race card with first post  of 1:15 p.m.

The Rainbow 6 will be on races  five through ten, with no carryover and a new pool.

The Late Pick 5 will be on races six though ten.
