He was executive director of the Florida Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association from 1995 to 2015. He previously was that association’s president, and was a multiple graded stake winning trainer.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Stirling’s family requests that donations be sent to: FLTRAC (Thoroughbred Aftercare), His Place Ministries (Pembroke Pines), or the Broward Ostomy Association.

Rainbow 6 Carryover is $16,424

Gulfstream Park will have a Rainbow 6 carryover of $16,424 when it resumes racing on Wednesday.
First post is 1:15 p.m. for a ten-race card. The Rainbow 6 is on races five through ten, with the sequence scheduled to  start at 3:21 p.m.

NOTE: Wednesdays are usually dark at Gulfstream. Gulfstream has added racing this  Wednesday Sept. 20 and on Sunday Oct. 1.  That will make up for some of the handle lost when it cancelled seven race dates due to Hurricane Irma.

On Sunday, there were six tickets  with the winners of  all six Rainbow 6 races.  Each received $3,838.24 on the 20 cent only bet.

The carryover coming in was $6,554.  Bettors added $41,133 to the Rainbow  6 pool.

Per its rules on days with multiple winning tickets, Gulfstream took out 20 percent of  the day’s bet. It then distributed 56 percent among winning tickets and added 24 percent to the carryover.

Gulfstream pays out the Rainbow  6  jackpot  only on days when there is  just one ticket  with the winners  of all six  Rainbow 6  races.

The jackpot consists of the entire carryover plus 80 percent of the day’s wagering on the Rainbow 6.

The Rainbow 6 is a 20-cent per combination-only bet. Multiple horses can be used in each race, thus setting up a ticket with multiple 20 cent combinations.  For example, a ticket with two horses in each race has 64 combinations and costs $12.80.
