Mor Spirit Rolls in Met Mile, Followed by Gulfstream Trio

Mor Spirit won the Metropolitan Handicap (Grade 1) at Belmont Park on Saturday, giving  jockey Mike Smith his fifth victory and trainer  Bob Baffert his fourth victory  on the Belmont Stakes undercard.

Mor Spirit, a Pennsylvania-bred, won by seven lengths in  the race known as the Met  Mile in 1:33.17 on the dirt track listed as fast.

In the 12-horse field the second through fourth place finishers were  Sharp Azteca, Tommy Macho and Awesome Slew.

That result looked familiar to fans of Gulfstream Park.

In this year's Gulfstream Park Handicap (Grade 2) Sharp  Azteca won and was followed by Awesome  Slew and Tommy Macho.

Mor Spirit has never  raced in Florida.
