Churchill Conditions are Sloppy and Good

The dirt track is listed as sloppy and the turf course is listed as good for today’s 13-race card that is underway at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.

The Weather Channel forecast is for at least an 85 percent chance of rain through the remainder of the afternoon in Louisville.

That means the track  likely will be sloppy or even muddy for the Kentucky Oaks (Grade 1) with scheduled post of 6:12 p.m.

The chance of rain will decease to 5 percent early Saturday morning, but will be 50 percent or more from about 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Clear skies are expected for the Kentucky Derby (Grade 1) with post time of 6:46 p.m.  The track condition will  depend on how quickly the track dries out on Saturday afternoon.
