Turf Allowance Tops Gulfstream Sunday Card



Gulfstream Park has an 11-race card on Sunday with a first post of 12:00 p.m.

Conditions are fast and firm.

The feature ninth race is an allowance/optional claimer at 7 ½ furlongs on turf for 4-year-olds and up. The purse is $49,000 and the optional price is $62,500. Scheduled post is 4:03 p.m.

There are twelve entrants.

The likely favorite is All Included, who last year at Gulfstream finished third in the 1 1/16 mile Fort Lauderdale Stakes (Grade 2) and third in the 1 1/8 mile Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap (Grade 1).  John Velazquez will ride for trainer Todd  Pletcher.

Performance Bonus (Chad Brown-Javier Castellano) and High Noon Rider are among other top contenders.

Tampa Bay Downs has nine Sunday races, with first post of 12:25 p.m.

Conditions are fast and firm.

The feature sixth race is six furlongs on dirt for 4-year-olds and up.  It is an allowance/optional claimer with a $27,500 purse and a $100,000 optional price.  Scheduled post is 2:55 p.m.

The eight-horse field includes the 4-year-old Morning Fire, the winner of last year’s Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay. Jose Ferrer will ride for trainer Keith Nations.

Springmeier (John Vinson-Fernando De La Cruz) and Futile (Arnaud Delacour-Daniel Centeno) also are among contenders.
