Fashion Runaway Easily Breaks Maiden Special Weight

The sixth race at Tampa Bay for bettors may have been a hard one given all the horses were newcomers, but Fashion Runaway, ridden by Willie Martinez, the only horse with a class rating was the winner with an unbothered victory in 1:18.88.

The 3-year old filly from the barn of Altair Farms and trained by William B. Bradley took over in this race and completely dominated over the favorite Gulf View ridden by leading jockey Daniel Centeno by 6 1/2 lengths. This horse could have had an advantage having raced three times already in its career, three times more than its opponents, but today made it his first win. 

No one in this race were close. Gulf View, the second place finisher advanced on the turn, but did not have enough to catch the leader.  He was 4 3/4 lengths ahead of Gray Nicole. Gray Nicole had a good start but weakened finishing in third place.

This race was for 6 1/2 furlongs on the dirt and had a total purses o $22,500. The total Win Place Show pool came to $172,966 and the charts are as follows:
