Triple Chelsea Takes Lightning City Stakes by the Neck

Just when many thought it was clear that the 6 horse Nite Delite had a clear win, in comes Triple Chelsea flying to steal the win by the neck finish of 55.60.

The 3-year old filly trained by Anthony J Granitz was seventh at start but brought up the speed and showed off his skills before the fans today in the 5 furlongs $100,000 Lightning City Stakes.  Wilmer A. Garcia guided the filly advancing between rivals at the turn, split horses at the furlong marker, and from there took off with a late but strong run, chasing after Nite Delite, whom finished second.

Both Nite Delite, and the favorite Everything Lovely who finished third were bumped at the start, and finished neck in neck of each other. Southern Ring finished in fourth 1 1/4 lengths behind the favorite Everything Lovely.
