Stormin Charlotte Uses Speed to Win GPW Opener

After battling for the lead all the way, Stormin Charlotte held on to edge stalkers Spring Spirit and Thinking of Mom in the Friday opener at the GP West meet.

Reagan's Odyssey, who was dueling with Stormin Charlotte until mid stretch, finished fifth in the  one mile turf race--a $20,000 claimer for fillies and mares 3-YO and up.

Stormin Charlotte  won in 1:39.10 on the course listed as firm.  Miguel Vasquez rode  that four-year-old  filly for  trainer Michael Yates.  It was her  fourth win in 16  career starts.
