The Rainbow 6 jackpot was hit at the Gulfstream Park West meet on Saturday, and it paid $38,701 to the holder of the only ticket that had the winners of all six races.
That payoff, for a 20 cent bet, was the result of Marqueteer winning the tenth and final race. Going into that race there were seven live tickets, but only one included Marqueteer who paid a relatively modest $11.60 on a $2 win bet.
The winning Rainbow 6 combination was 2/1/6/1/1/9.
The GP West meet will start a new Rainbow 6 pool on Sunday. First post will be 1:15 p.m. for the ten-race card at Calder Casino.
The Rainbow 6 will be on races five through ten. It is a 20-cent only per combination bet. Multiple horses be used in each race, thus allowing multiple combinations.
For example, a ticket with two horses in each race has 64 combinations and costs $12.80.
