Long on Value and Successful Native, two horses that have won turf stakes at Gulfstream Park, finished first and second in the $100,000 Golden Coin Stakes on Monday at Saratoga Race Course.
Long on Value rallied on the outside from fifth place coming around the turn and won by a length in the 5 1/2 furlong turf stakes for three-year-olds and up.
Undrafted finished third, three-quarters of a length behind Successful Native--completing a trifecta of Gulfstream stakes veterans.
Joel Rosario rode Long on Value for trainer Bill Mott. The winning time was 1:01.76 on the outer turf course that was listed as firm.
Long on Value was the 3-1 second betting choice in the seven-horse field. Successful Native was 16-1 and Undrafted was the 6-5 favorite.
Long on Value won the one-mile Canadian Turf at
Gulfstream in 2015 and finished second in that race this year.
Successful Native won this year's Bonita Stakes at five furlongs on turf at Gulfstream.
Undrafted finished third in three dirt stakes at Gulfstream as a three-year-old in 2013 before trainer Wesley Ward made him a turf specialist.
This year, Undrafted won the Shakertown (Grade 2) at 5 1/2 furlongs on turf at Keeneland.
Former NFL wide receiver Wes Welker is a co-owner of Undrafted.
Doctor J Dub, up from Gulfstream, was scratched in the morning by trainer Jena Antonucci. She also has him entered in Saratoga's seventh race on Wednesday. It is a 5 1/2 furlong turf allowance with a $78,000 purse.
Doctor J Dub won the five-furlong Bob Umphrey Turf Dash at Gulfstream on July 2.
Tyler Gaffalione, the leader in wins at Gulfstream's summer meet, is scheduled to ride Doctor J Dub.
