Gulfstream Park will end the fifth week of its summer meet on Sunday with eleven races and first post of 1:15 p.m.

The dirt track is listed as fast  and the turf course is listed as

According to the Weather Channel, the chance of rain is just 15 percent in Hallandale Beach where Gulfstream is located.

The featured tenth race is the $75,000 Monroe Stakes at seven furlongs on dirt for fillies and mares three-years-old and up that have never won a dirt stakes. Scheduled post is 6:02 p.m.

We will have a preview of the Monroe as part of Sunday afternoon coverage on his blog.

*In Sunday’s first race there is a carryover of $5,480.09 on the Super Hi-5.

There were no winning tickets on the Super Hi-5 in Saturday’s 12th and final race.  It requires picking the first five finishers in correct order.

The first race is a $16,000 claimer, at five furlongs on turf for three-year-olds and up that have never won two races.
 There are eight entrants.

The carryover on the Rainbow 6 has grown to $254,688.88 for Sunday. It is on races six to eleven.

Saturday was the 17th straight race day without the carryover/jackpot payoff requirement of just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.

On Saturday there were 68 tickets with all six winners. Each received $751.82.  Saturday’s Rainbow 6 pool was 891,578 of which 24 percent was added to the carryover.

*Tyler Gaffalione, the Gulfstream summer meet leader in wins, is scheduled to return to riding at Gulfstream on Sunday.

He has not ridden since last Sunday, while out of town on what Gulfstream officially said is a “family issue.”  We are expecting an update later on Sunday.

Gaffalione has 34 wins through 19 days of the summer meet. Emisael Jaramillo is second with 21 victories.
Jaramillo was at Saratoga Race Course on Saturday. He rode Delta Bluesman to a fourth place finish in the Alfred G, Vanderbilt (Grade 1) at six furlongs on dirt.
Jaramillo is listed on six mounts  at Gulfstream on Sunday. That includes Miss Hollywood, one of the likely favorites in the Monroe.

Gaffalione also is listed on six Sunday mounts. He is not
scheduled to ride in the Monroe.
