Gulfstream Rainbow 6 Carryover Grows to $113,209

Gulfstream Park will have a carryover of $113,209 on its Rainbow 6 on Saturday.

First post is 1:15 p.m. for the 11-race card. The Rainbow 6 is on races six through 11.  The six races have total entrants of 66, including main track only and also eligibles.

That will follow a Friday on which there were no Rainbow 6 tickets with the winners of all six  races.

So, Gulfstream divided its non-jackpot  payoff among tickets with five of six winners.

There were 24 such tickets, each receiving $1,296.18.

Friday was the 11th straight race day without the jackpot/carryover payoff requirement of just one ticket with all six winners.

The carryover coming in was $100,004 and it grew to $113,209.

The Rainbow 6 is a 20-cent only per combination bet with multiple horses permitted in each leg.

Gulfstream pays out the day's Rainbow 6 pool (minus 20 percent takeout) plus the carryover only on days when there is just one ticket with all six winners.

On other days it divides 56 percent of the day's bet among the multiple winning tickets and adds 24 percent to the carryover.

The win by Little Nappy at 14-1 in the third race (first leg) was a main reason there were no Rainbow 6 tickets with all six winners on Friday.

Chi Chi Chip, at 2-1 in the fifth race, was the only favorite to win a race in the Rainbow 6 sequence.
