Gulfstream Headed Toward Ninth Race Feature

After seven at Gulfstream, here's a look at what's happened and what's ahead for the rest of the eight-race card.

*Summers Back (18-1), With a Kiss (9-5) and Glotona Again (8-1) won the first three legs of the Rainbow 6.

Jockey Rayan Gazader gained his first career win on Glotona Again.

Bettors added $66,957 to the Rainbow 6 pool. The carryover coming  in was $16,199.

Wagering was $115,821 on the day's Late Pick 5.  That continues the recent trend of that bet being higher than $100,000 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Gulfstream is on pace for more than $6 million in all-sources handle today.

The featured ninth race is one mile on dirt, a  starter allowance with an $18,000 purse for 3-YO and up.  Rich Daddy, with three wins in his  last five starts, and Capital City, now trained by Maria Borell, are likely favorites.

The tenth race is a $15,000 maiden claimer at five furlongs on turf for fillies and mares 3-YO and up.

Trainer Kathleen O'Connell, seeking  her 1,800th career  win, will send  out Misskatiekate to be ridden by Eddie Castro.
