Francesco Appeal,  at 8-5, won Gulfstream's third race to start Thursday's Rainbow 6, which has a carryover of $7,443.

Bettors added $31,553 to the pool.

Successful Appeal, a gelding trained by Larry Pilotti, put away challenger Draft Beer entering the stretch and won by four lengths in the maiden special weight race for 2-year-olds.

Eddie Castro rode Francesco Appeal who ran 4 1/2 furlongs in 51.85 seconds on the track listed as fast.  Monarch Stables owns Francesco Appeal, a Kentucky-bred son of Successful Appeal.

Down in the Holler, the even-money favorite, finished  third in the six-horse field.
