Jewel of a Cat Faces the Boys Again

The seventh race at Gulfstream is the $150,000 Sunshine Millions Turf Sprint  scheduled for 3:05 p.m..

One of the likely favorites is Jewel of a Cat, who will be seeking her third straight win--and her second in that sequence against males.

On Nov 7 she beat an open field in the Millions Turf Sprint Preview at the Gulfstream Park West meet at Calder.

On Dec. 27 she came back to win the Windy Key at Gulfstream in a race restricted to fillies and mares

Both races were five furlongs on turf, the same as Saturday's race.

Jewel of a Cat has post 10 and will be chasing several horses with early speed.

"She's versatile, and she has already beaten the boys,:" said Carlo Vaccarezza, who trains Jewel  of a Cat.

Paco Lopez will ride Jewel of  a Cat for the third straight race.

With 18 minutes until post Summation Time, trained by Christophe Clement, is the 5-2 favorite. Jewel of a Cat is 4-1.
