Itsaknockout Wins in Return at Gulfstream

It was an impressive return to Gulfstream Park for Itsaknockout on Thursday, as he won handily in a one-mile allowance/optional claiming race.

Itsaknockout took the lead a furlong from the finish  and went on to win by 4 3/4 lengths in 1:35.02.  Elnaawi rallied to finish second, followed by Just Call Kenny.

Luis Saez rode Itsaknockout for trainer Todd Pletcher and owner Starlight Racing

Itsaknockout had not raced since May 2 when he finished ninth in the Kentucky Derby (Grade 1).

Earlier in the year, he came in second in the Fountain of  Youth (Grade 2) at Gulfstream.  But he was dcclared the winner after stewards determined that he was interfered with in the stretch by first place finisher Upstart.

Itsaknockout, a son of Lemon Drop Kid, finished fourth in last year's Florida Derby (Grade 1).
